Two people killed in four car crash in Vienna
Two people were killed this morning (Weds) in a serious traffic accident in the Vienna Donaustadt district.
A further person was left in a serious condition in the crash which four vehicles were involved in.
Three cars were stopped at a red light when a Mercedes smashed into the traffic queue at a speed of 120 km/h. The speed dial was stopped at 120 km/h after the crash.
The 62-year-old driver of the Mercedes and his 85-year-old passenger were killed.
According to Ronald Packert from Wiener Rettung a 29-year-old was airlifted to hospital by the Christophorus 9 rescue helicopter and is in a serious condition.
A 24-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were also injured in the crash.
Police are investigating the circumstances. It is unclear why the Mercedes was travelling so fast in the city and why it crashed into the traffic queue.
